Textile business is the first business venture of Ramco Group with setting up of Rajapalayam Mills Ltd  in 1938.  The Textile business of Ramco Group comprises the following eight business units :

• Sri Ramco Spinners

• Rajapalayam Textiles

• Sandhya Spinning Mills Ltd

• Thanjavur Spinning Mill Ltd

As on 31st March 2006, the capacity is about 3,00,000 Spindles 2900 Rotors. The investments in Fixed Assets of the Textile business is    Rs 512 Crores and the Turnover for 2005-06 is Rs 332 Crores  The exports constitutes a significant 44% of Turnover. The textile units enjoy long term relationship with giant business houses in Japan, viz Mitshubhishi Corp, Unitika, Dokobo etc
